Kamahardikaan is the celebration of the birth of Tawi-Tawi province, which was separated from Sulu province on Sept. 27, 1973. Kamahardikaan is the Sinama word for “the highest honor.” The event coincides with the Agal-Agal Festival or the Seaweed Festival which pays tribute to the province’s top produce, seaweeds.
