The Department of Tourism of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DOT-ARMM) conducted an assessment of identified tourism assets in Marawi City last March 13-16.
In coordination with authorities in Marawi City, the AFP and the Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, the team composed of DOT-ARMM employees was able to enter the main battle area where some of the city's tourism assets are located.

The team also visited tourism sites outside the main battle area including the century-old Dayawan Torogan; Masjid Abubakar in East Basak; Marawi Resort Hotel, Aga Khan Museum and MSU Hostel which are located within the MSU-Main campus; the Capitol Mosque at the Provincial Capitol Complex; and Kampo Ranao.

The group was also able to visit the temporary shelter areas for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Brgy. Sagonsongan.
According to DOT-ARMM Regional Secretary Ayesha Mangudadatu Dilangalen the said assessment activity conducted was important so they can identify the proper interventions and assistance they can provide for affected sites.
