The celebration Sto. Niño de Bula Patronal Fiesta is considered as one of the biggest and most attended annual event in General Santos City.
It is a thanksgiving celebration held every January 15 by residents of Brgy. Bula and the fishing industry in the city to the patron saint for bountiful harvest.
Every year, an estimated 20,000 to 50,000 people flocked to Brgy. Bula to celebrate the Sinulog and participate in activities including the fluvial parade, inland procession, Holy mass, street dancing and the traditional sinulog dancing, among others.

The Municipality of Tantangan, known for its clay pots and ceramics made by local artisan and craftsmen, celebrates its foundation anniversary and Kulitangtang Festival every 27th day of January. The festival name is from the word “Kulitangtangan,” or the ringing of a bell when there is a gathering. The streetdancing competition highlights the diversity of cultures in Tantangan.

The coastal town of Maitum in Sarangani Province celebrates Bangsi Festival every 4th week of January. The celebration is named after the town's "one town, one product" or OTOP - the flying fish or bangsi for the locals.
The week-long celebration also gives tribute to the town's fisherfolks. Must-see activities of Bangsi Festival includes the Bangsiyawan or the streetdancing competition and showdown, and the Sugbarangayan wherein tons of flying fish are grilled simultaneously along the main streets of Maitum.
