The Office of the Chief Minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has appointed a new Port Manager for the RPMA Port Management Office in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
RPMA is mandated to integrate the policy of the national ports system in managing, administering and operating all ports in BARMM. It covers all base ports and terminal ports of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi including the municipal and private ports situated therein.
The ceremony was also graced by Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament Member Prof. Eddie Ali, together with the team of RPMA-BARMM Regional Office namely Port Operations Specialist Abdulgani Lappang, Marketing and Promotions Specialist and the agency’s Information Officer Hadji Harris M. Ismael and Port Operations Focal Person for BASULTA Jarmihlyn Arabani.
In attendance, were port stakeholders from different business and security sectors operating in the port, representatives of shipping companies routing the area and officers and members of the Modern Port Terminal Building (MPTB) and Port Management Office (PMO) in Bongao respectively.
In a ceremony held on 22 May 2019 at the Bongao Port Management Office, outgoing PM Rodel Akip formally turned-over his responsibilities to the new Port Manager Alshadikh B. Dais who committed to continue enhancing the good governance and services practiced and implemented by Akip.
