During Eid Al-Fitr, or the Festival of the Breaking of the Fast that marks the end of Ramadan, Muslim faithfuls around the world gather for congregational prayer in mosques or special prayer grounds. Preachers congratulate Muslims on the blessed occasion, pray to Allah to accept their fasting, charity and good deeds, and wish them good outcomes.
In Cotabato City, the Grand Mosque or the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Masjid is flocked by thousands for Eid congregational prayer. Located in Barangay Kalanganan II, the Grand Mosque was funded by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei at a reported cost of US$48 million. It is the largest mosque in the Philippines.
