The sun was out and smiling, it was a perfect day for another outdoor adventure. I took an early morning habal-habal ride to Municipality of Columbio in Sultan Kudarat from City of Koronadal to visit Fetam Klego, the Underground River in Brgy. Sinapulan.
With scenic views of mountains on both sides of the roads and cool mountain breeze, I enjoyed the almost 45-minute motorcycle ride on a rough road from Koronadal. It was a good start.
Upon reaching the Poblacion in Columbio, I headed to the Municipal Tourism Office to register and where I met Maam Suzane Bancuyo, the town's tourism officer who helped me find a habal-habal ride which will bring me to Brgy. Sinapulan and Fetam Klego.
Another habal-habal ride of about 30 minutes. The habal-habal driver, a young Blaan native, who also became my guide told me stories about their place and the underground river while we drive through hills and rough, rocky and paved road. He said that many tourists from different places visits Fetam Klego especially during weekends and hot season.. Thankful that many people visits their place, he is also hoping for more developments that will benefit the locals.
Our ride ended at the jump-off area of the hike to Fetam Klego in Sitio Asmakul Basa where I paid the entrance fee of P20/person. Then an easy hike of about 20 minutes through a narrow trail that leads to Fetam Klego followed. I was amazed by the beautiful views of hills, the landscapes of green grass and the fresh air while on the trail going to our destination.
"Fetam klego” is a Blaan term which mean “underground river”. The area where it is located is the boundary between the municipalities of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat and Matanao, Davao del Sur.
Fetam Klego is another tourism gem for the Province of Sultan Kudarat. I hope it will be developed while preserving the natural beauty of the place.

Fetam Klego, also popularly known as Sinapulan Underground River, is actually a series of streams, leading to a doline where the water from upstream drains to a basin via a waterfall pool beneath a shallow cavern.
A young Blaan girl in a small hut greeted me with "Maayong Pag-abot sir" and asked me to register my name in their logbook as soon as I reached the entrance. I also paid P10, which according to the girl is for maintenance. Then, I explored and enjoyed Fetam Klego. Check out the photos:
