With the theme "Glan @105: Moving towards progress through tourism and cultural preservation", the 20th Lubi-lubi sa Glan Festival finally kicks off this Thursday, October 3, 2019.
A thanksgiving mass was held in the morning at the Colono Marker attended by LGU employees and officials headed by Mayor Vivien Yap and representatives of different sectors in Municipality of Glan.
The Thematic Parade which was participated by different departments in the local government unit and some schools in Glan wowed spectators as they paraded the town's main streets in coco-inspired attires and well-decorated floats. It was followed by the Grand Opening Program held at the Municipal Plaza which was capped by a mass dancing to the beat of the Lubi-Lubi sa Glan Festival song.

Glan, one of the oldest towns in Southern and Central Mindanao, is also considered as the "Coco Queen of the South" being the top producer of coconut in the region.
The week-long Lubi- Lubi sa Glan Festival highlights the "Tree of Life" as the major source of livelihood of the people of Glan.
Other activities lined up for this year's Lubi-Lubi sa Glan Festival includes sports events, nightly concerts with invited popular bands, cultural and variety shows, tourism, agri and trade bazaar, dance and singing competitions, skills contests, the search for Bai de Glan and Mutya ng Glan 2019, the Lubi-Lubi sa Glan Festival Street Dancing Competition, and many more.
Mayor Vivien Yap encourages residents of Glan to participate and witness the different activities prepared by the LGU and welcomes visitors to Lubi-Lubi sa Glan Festival, "the most colorful festival in the whole of Sarangani Province".
Governor Steve Chiongbian Solon of the Province of Sarangani also attended and witnessed the opening program of Lubi-Lubi sa Glan Festival 2019.
