Congratulations to all the winners of the 15th Maitum Photo Safari!

The municipal government of Maitum has announced on Monday, January 27, 2020 the winners of the 15th Maitum Photo Safari, with the Grand Prize going to Vinjo Bucol of Gensan Camera Club for his stunning photo taken during Bangsiyawan, the street dancing competition of Bangsi Festival.

The Maitum Photo Safari is considered as the longest-running and one of the biggest photography competition in SOCCSKSARGEN Region. Every year, photography enthusiasts gather in Maitum to cover the exciting activities of Bangsi Festival, experience the diverse culture and warm hospitality of the people, and discover and explore the town's unique and interesting tourism spots.

This year's Maitum Photo Safari grand prize package includes P15,000 cash, a plaque and a special prize from Smart.

A total of 589 photo entries were submitted by more than 80 photographers in this year's contest. The participants were from different parts of Mindanao including Davao City, Tagum, General Santos City, different towns of Sarangani and South Cotabato.

In addition to the overall grand prize winner, the judges composed of professional photographers namely Cocoy Sexcion, Rommel G. Rebollido and Denn Jib Seblos selected first through fifth place winners in three categories - festival, shootout, and street dancing.

The very supportive Maitum Mayor Alexander Bryan Reganit also selected four (4) winners of the Mayor's Choice Award.
