Youth leaders and peace advocates in the Bangsamoro Region gathered at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex (SKCC), Cotabato City last August 12, 2021 for the State of the Bangsamoro Youth Address (SOBYA) and the International Youth Day celebration.
Spearheaded by the Bangsamoro Youth Commission (BYC) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), SOBYA recognized the importance and hard work of the youth, and address some cultural and other issues concerning the youth in the region.
International Youth Day (IYD) or World Youth Day (WYD) is commemorated every 12th of August to promote different ways to encourage and engage the young generation to help and contribute to their communities and society.
This year’s theme is “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health” with the goal to highlight global initiatives that were successful with the active engagement of young people.
International Youth Day (IYD) was established to help young people and make them work together to improve their lives and serves as an opportunity for the government to address issues concerning the youth globally.
The activity is important as it focuses on making a better world for the young people with priorities set to improve their lives, and helps in making awareness about poverty.
